About The Job

This job is a member of the Credit Union Team within the American Airlines Credit Union. ​This position will be responsible for leading American Airlines Credit Union’s business projects, enhancements, and participating in the execution of our strategic product roadmap.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • ​Works directly with the business units and the Process and System Analysts on project process and technical requirements
  • Partners as needed to implement the technical specifications, including system configuration, system parameter setup, report creation, form/document creation, system security, third-party system interfaces, product/system technical documentation, compliance, etc.
  • Works with the IT Design Committee on preliminary and final technical designs that complies with the Credit Union’s IT standards for application, database, and infrastructure architecture, information security, etc.
  • Documents use case technology solutions and works with the Business Process Analysts to ensures they are fully tested
  • Leads and coordinates project activities, facilitating sessions as needed to close any related gaps that are identified, and monitoring all aspects of project development
  • Works closely with the Business Process Analysts to identify process improvement opportunities, and develops innovative technology and non-technology solutions to streamline processes and improve productivity
  • Partners with the business unit on all Requests For Proposal (RFPs) for new products or services when the credit union is considering changing third-party vendors/partners
  • Reviews release notes from current business unit systems looking for new functionality that the business unit could leverage
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • ​Bachelor’s degree in IT, IS, Business Systems, Computer Science, or similar related work experience
  • 5 years of proven progressive experience in systems analysis, IT project management or related IT field
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
  • Skilled with extensive technical skills to include software application implementation and administration, programming/database fundamentals and interfaces and middleware
  • Knowledge of Episys financial application, programming, networking, web services, SAN, and server virtualization
  • Ability to successfully plan and implement large to medium sized systems projects that are delivered on-time and within budget
  • Ability to work with 3rd party partners/vendors to successfully accomplish goals
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to plan and strategize
  • Ability to demonstrate strong decision making skills and obtain results
  • Must pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks
  • Must have an acceptable credit history, which will be verified

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • ​Experience with Episys financial application, SQL/Oracle, Microsoft, AIX, PowerOn programming, Java, HTML, Visual Basic, .Net, web services, NetApp SAN, IBM hardware, VMware, Cisco networking, and Citrix
  • Experience in the financial services industry and Credit Union’s departments, products and systems
  • Experience with information security controls and technical writing
  • Knowledge of change management, ITIL, is a plus
  • Knowledge of MS Project is a plus
