About The Job

​This job is a member of the Safety Team within the Integrated Operations Division. Responsible for providing safety data analysis to all workgroups and divisions at American Airlines.  In addition, this job develops and maintains in-depth reporting and analysis to tell the story of safety trends and issues, possible reasons, and potential solutions.  This job also serves as subject matter expert (SME) for safety data such as employee injuries and aircraft damages.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Coordinates and performs logical system design & defines all algorithms and logic to use in the development of the corporate metrics
  • Dictates the structure of the system application so that it may be configured and modified for inclusion of new metrics without changing requirements
  • Secures the application and design user rights and logins
  • Creates Complex Queries and calculations
  • Prepares Adhoc Reports
  • Contributes in the data evaluation process for input into the Safety Analysis

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years' experience in aviation industry or in aviation academics
  • Experience analyzing large amounts of data and finding conclusions
  • Experience delivering presentations and leading meetings
  • Profound knowledge of Microsoft Office to include, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Knowledge of Cognos, Alteryx and Tableau
  • Detail oriented, innovative and excellent analytical decision making skills
  • Exceptional ability to manage high volume of tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills including collaboration, problem solving, diplomacy, etiquette and team building
  • Ability to multi-task

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in creating application user manual(s)
  • Knowledge of airline ground operations
