This job is a member of the User Experience (UX) and Digital Customer Experience team within the Marketing & Loyalty group. The Digital Copywriter crafts customer-focused content for a global audience delivered through aa.com, mobile, app and other digital channels.

What you'll do
  • ​Create and publishes customer-focused content for digital channels, ensuring content is accurate, follows standards, and is engaging and customer-friendly
  • Applie editorial expertise and uses data to continuously improve the customer experience
  • Translate content into clear and concise messaging that can be easily understood by our customers
  • Write copy for functional applications, including errors, terms, instructions and product descriptions
  • Maintain the digital lexicon for consistency in voice and standards for all digital channels
  • Update content within the content management system (CMS) using pre-defined templates
  • Optimize global content development and management processes and tools
  • Translate written requirements for projects into visual solutions (via wire-frames, site maps and page flows) to establish user-interface-driven solutions and standards
  • Develop and implements new content quality metrics
  • Establishe and supports a process to keep content up-to-date
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends and late nights, for publishing alerts resulting from weather delays/cancellations or other operational issues
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, Arts, or English; or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of experience writing concise, web/mobile-friendly copy for a major brand and high traffic/transaction website
  • Copywriting and design experience
  • Must have online portfolio/samples of work

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience working in TeamSite or other content management systems
  • Project management experience within a marketing or digital environment
  • Travel industry experience or general knowledge of the airline industry

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Knowledge of customer content needs and ability to tailor copy to the audience
  • Knowledge and understanding of AP style and copywriting best practices for digital content including SEO, accessibility, analytics and information architecture
  • Self-starter attitude with experience implementing goals, using analytical skills and being adaptable to change
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating across teams
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently with a team and individually
  • Working knowledge of content strategy
  • Creative skills
