About The Job


This position will be responsible for coordinating, developing and delivering regulatory and company mandated Ground Operations training programs to personnel.  Ground Operations Training Instructors report to the Learning Specialist.  Ground Operations is part of the Airport Customer Service organization.


Specifically, you’ll do the following:​

  • Conduct American Airlines mandated initial, recurrent and operational training programs
  • Supervise students while in training including:  On the job training, performance assessment, performance management, counseling/coaching, and administering progressive counseling, when necessary
  • Ensure students are given proper credit and certification for course completion
  • Update and maintain current course curricula; always ensure course content is up to date and accurate
  • Support and participate in special projects/programs as required
  • Develop positive relationships with corporate departments and station personnel
  • Take part in Alpha/Beta classes; provide on-going feedback to Learning Specialists
  • Complete personal expense reports timely, accurately and efficiently


Required Qualifications



  • Ramp mainline and/or mainline spoke station operation position and/or cabin appearance or other airline equivalent experience
  • Previous training experience including classroom delivery and OJT
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with employees from all departments and levels
  • Experience working in an airport environment
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read and write the English language
  • Previous experience in video script writing, filming and editing to enhance student understanding of policy and procedures
  • Previous experience in teaching and or classroom facilitation
  • Motivated self-starter with proven leadership skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel extensively both domestic and internationally to facilitate courses and provide mentoring/support


Preferred Qualifications


  • Three years AA mainline ramp experience
  • Three years AA mainline operations (OPS0100) experience and or Control Center experience
  • Four- year college degree
  • AA mainline widebody aircraft experience
  • AA mainline crew chief experience
  • Operations Initial (OPS0100) qualified
  • Knowledgeable of Operations (OPS0100) policy, procedure
  • Proficient in Sabre DECS system
  • American Ramp Specifics (RAMPT1500) instructor qualified
  • Proficient in RampLink+ scanners
  • Cabin Appearance and Monitor and Challenge instructor qualified (CABNT1006, CABNT2042)
  • Additional foreign language skills a plus
  • Project management
  • Instructional design experience
  • Valid passport required
