About The Job

This job is a member of the Information Technology Team, within the Information Technology Division. As a member of the Enterprise Data Service team, this position will engineer, deploy, and manage current and future American Airlines Enterprise Managed File Transfer environments.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • ​Collaborates with architects, engineering, project managers and applications teams to plan and coordinate changes
  • Assists with deployment of an enterprise managed file transfer system
  • Integrates the enterprise managed file transfer system with other software platforms throughout the organization
  • Manages both internal and external file transfers
  • Collaborates with project managers, other engineers, administrators, and customers to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Documents requirements, architectural designs, engineering drawings and diagrams, as well as operational policies and procedures
  • Develops and documents best practices for system installation, deployment, and operation
  • Participates in technology proof of concept selection criteria, evaluation, and testing
  • Explores and stays abreast of new technologies that can bring value to the organization
  • Encourages an environment of sharing and team work among the project teams

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • ​​​Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of experience as a systems or infrastructure engineer or administrator

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 5+ years of experience as a systems or infrastructure engineer or administrator
  • 2+ years of experience with any Private or Public Clouds
  • Proficiency and demonstrated experience in:
    • File transfer procedures and protocols - SFTP, FTPS, FTP, SSH, and PGP
    • FTP/SFTP Software
    • IPSwitch’s WSFTP Pro software
    • IPSwitch’s MOVEit Central and MOVEit DMZ software
    • IPswitch Software Suite including MoveIT & WSFTP
    • PowerShell Scripting
    • Automation Tools

  • Experience with DevOps Model
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and experience in technology selection and implementation
  • Ability to demonstrate strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and experience in technology selection and implementation
  • Understanding of API Integration and Global Load Balancer
  • Proficiency in Agile project management methodology, specifically within the infrastructure area
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups
  • Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently
