The Senior Manager, AAdvantage Co-Brand Engagement Strategy leads the development and execution of strategic initiatives to drive increased engagement and performance for the Citi / AAdvantage cobrand credit card portfolio. This role is responsible for managing existing cardmember strategy, identifying growth opportunities through data and insights, and driving cross-functional initiatives that enhance customer experience and maximize value for both cardmembers and the program.

  • Lead strategies and initiatives to drive cardmember engagement, retention, spend growth, and overall portfolio performance.
  • Manage the end-to-end cardmember lifecycle, including onboarding, engagement, retention, reactivation, and upgrade strategies.
  • Partner across American Airlines, Citi, Mastercard, and internal teams to develop and execute customer-focused campaigns and growth initiatives.
  • Leverage data, analytics, customer insights, and performance monitoring to identify opportunities and improve results.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to enhance the cardmember experience, customer communications, and portfolio value.
  • Support segmentation, personalization, targeting, and offer strategies to increase engagement and loyalty.
  • Coordinate launch readiness, stakeholder alignment, training, and communications for key portfolio initiatives and product enhancements.
  • Manage customer experience issues, operational improvements, and remediation efforts.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners and provide strategic recommendations through governance forums and executive updates.
  • Lead and develop team members through coaching, mentorship, and professional development.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing strategy, loyalty, partnership management, financial services, consulting, or related disciplines
  • 5+ years of people leadership or demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and teams
  • Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging data to inform business decisions and drive measurable results.
  • Proven success in developing and executing customer engagement, retention, or lifecycle marketing strategies.

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in the financial services, travel, or loyalty industries
  • Familiarity with co-brand credit card programs, financial services or loyalty marketing
