- This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.
- Responsible for assisting American Airlines Integrated Operation (IOC) Managers on Duty (MOD) and Director on Duty (DOD) with operational issues that impact the IOC, HUBs or multiple operational sites. You will provide system Monitoring, Incident management, communication and coordination of issues, documentation, maintenance and support, strategic Planning and Execution to coordinate with IT and business units.
What you'll do
- System Monitoring: Utilize monitoring tools to continuously track the performance of IT systems, networks, and applications. Proactively detect and resolve issues to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Incident Management: Lead the response to major IT application incidents. Coordinate with relevant teams for rapid troubleshooting and resolution. Adhere to the protocols outlined in the Incident Management Plan. Document actions taken and collaborate with appropriate teams on necessary updates.
- Communication and Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison for IT matters within the Operations Center. Ensure cohesive interaction between IT staff and other departments.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of incidents, resolutions, and overall system health. Provide regular status updates to senior management.
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Represent IT on the IOC Bridge. Advise on planned changes, prioritize enterprise IT initiatives, and support overall airline operations.
- Works various shifts, holidays, on-call and travel as required
- Follows management guidance, adhering to IT policy and procedure
- Performs other duties as requested
- Travels, as required.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Associate / Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience/training
- 5 years of demonstrable 'hands-on' IT work experience supporting and resolving diverse software and hardware issues
- Must have firsthand experience supporting airline applications.
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Understanding of airline operations.
- Previous IT infrastructure experience in Airline/Airport environment
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Overall knowledge of airline applications
- Familiarity with workflow and with ticketing systems
- Knowledge of AA applications and ability to troubleshoot issues
- Ability to work independently and perform in a collaborative, team based environment
