- Responsible for managing and driving value through key sponsorships across multiple verticals which includes collaborating cross-functionally within the organization, as well as externally with American’s sports agency of record and with the representatives of our partners
- As a member of the Sponsorships and Activations team, this individual will help support and fulfill multiple functions of American Airlines’ sport sponsorships that drive business objectives, provide unique opportunities for our brand, and when applicable support other internal business units
- Additional objectives include managing sponsorship asset execution, supporting sponsorship measurement efforts, supporting ticket fulfillment and hospitality, coordinating community activations, and enhancing American’s brand perception through sponsorship assets
- The role is a part of the Sponsorships and Activations team within our Global Engagement Group
What you'll do
- Support overall development of comprehensive and strategic marketing plans and campaigns for American’s Sponsorships portfolio
- Plan and execute both physical and digital sponsorship activations across American’s Sponsorships portfolio
- Collaborate with multiple internal departments as well as external partners on sponsorships to drive business results
- Support the annual Sponsorship and Activation budget, working with finance, accounting and other partners to ensure accurate and responsible spend
- Manage the hospitality component of partnerships
- Take ownership of tasks/projects and proactively communicate next steps, timelines and potential issues to appropriate stakeholders
- Develop critical thinking skills by demonstrating the ability to anticipate major issues / obstacles and provide recommendations on how to move forward
- Support partnership renewal and negotiation conversations
- Make positive impact on the team, maintain optimistic can-do attitude even when plans change
- Ability to work outside traditional office hours including evenings and weekends as needed and to be available for business travel as needed
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training
- 3-5 years related experience
- Prior experience working in Sports Partnerships/Sponsorships
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Knowledge and experience planning and executing both physical and digital sponsorship activations
- Experience working for or with professional sports teams
- Experience managing hospitality assets through ticket platforms such as Ticketmaster, Seat Geek, etc.
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Must be a highly organized self-starter with the ability to prioritize and perform within a deadline structured environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail is essential
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Must be enthusiastic and able to interact in a professional manner with all departments within the airline, divisional leadership and with external partners, customers and vendors
