  • As a Supplier Relationship Management Sr. Analyst at American Airlines, you’ll own initiatives and drive strategy across multiple programs, including supplier performance, supplier risk, and supplier sustainability. 
     

What you'll do

  • Supplier Performance Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, monitoring and analyzing supplier performance metrics (e.g., quality, delivery, cost, compliance). Prepare reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and support performance review meetings.
  • Supplier Risk Management: Identify and assess supplier risks. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Work with internal stakeholders to ensure supplier sustainability standards are met across the supply chain, focusing on environmental and social responsibility. Monitor supplier sustainability efforts and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Partner with stakeholders and business partners across American to align expectations and deliver on enterprise wide  
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain up-to-date supplier records, in compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and legal requirements. Monitor supplier adherence to contracts, regulatory guidelines, and sustainability commitments.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect and analyze data to generate actionable insights on supplier performance, risks, and opportunities. Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations for senior leadership.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in supplier relationship management, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on risk management, and/or sustainability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, assess risks, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

  • Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) or Sustainability (e.g., LEED, CSR certifications).
  • Experience with or knowledge of:
    • Supplier performance evaluation methodologies 
    • Supplier risk management
    • Sustainability reporting and best practices within supply chains
    • Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Skills, Licenses & Certifications
    • Skilled in building organizational and interpersonal business relationships and influencing people at various organizational levels
    • A self-starter with strong collaboration skills
    • Proficient using Excel, Access, and Power Point
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills needed to gain and build support for actions and direction
