- This job is a member of the Supply Chain Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
- Responsible for developing and promoting strategic partnerships with suppliers who support American's material and service requirements for maintenance. This job works closely with internal American Airlines customers to understand their business needs, and represents the company in negotiations and business transactions with suppliers.
What you'll do
• Manages the life cycle planning of Engine, APU, Landing gear and components
• Develops and promotes strategic partnerships with suppliers
• Measures, tracks, influences supplier performance for the commodity; resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
• Leads cross-functional teams; fully understands internal customer requirements and works to meet those needs
• Monitor compliance with established contracts/agreements to ensure that service levels are met
• Uses analytical tools to forecast Engine, APU, Landing gear and components removal and demand volumes
• Manages financial activities like annual budget and quarterly/monthly forecasting
• Reconcile and manage invoicing for monthly fleet utilization and supplemental costs
• Prepares presentations and conducts quarterly business reviews with suppliers and senior level management at American
• Uses analytical tools to forecast Engine, APU, Landing gear and components removal and demand volumes
• Manages financial activities like annual budget and quarterly/monthly forecasting
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field and/or equivalent experience/training
- 2 years of experience in Supply Chain, or a similar work function
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

Bachelor's Degree or MBA with a concentration in Supply Chain Management

3 years of experience in Supply Chain related fields
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- A team leader with strong communication skills
- Strong knowledge of supply chain concepts, with work experience applying those concepts
- Demonstrated negotiating and influencing experience
- Self-directed and resourceful with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks with exhibited follow through and initiative
- Business understanding, particularly in project management, early supplier involvement, total cost management and financial analysis
- Understanding and use of technical tools for analysis, problem solving, forecasting and quality improvement
- High ethical standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
