What you'll do

  • Responsible for providing leadership and problem-solving focus to a team of MODs and CSMs at our Dallas-Fort Worth Hub. 
  • Serve as a liaison between American the TSA, CBP, Division of Aviation and Joint-Business Carriers while simultaneously focusing on the reliability of the high volume of flagship operations. 
  • Devote attention to the performance of the FIS and develop strategies to diminish misconnects and improve dependability by anticipating disruptions and coordinating across teams. 
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and directives, and confers with managers to obtain data required for planning department activities, such as new commitments, status of work in progress, and problems encountered. 
  • Assigns, or delegates responsibility for, specified work or functional activities and disseminates policy to managers. 
  • Gives work directions, resolves problems, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work. 
  • Coordinates activities of department with related activities of other departments to ensure efficiency and economy. 
  • Prepares reports and records on department activities for senior leadership. 
  • Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives to develop and implement improved procedures and practices. 
  • May initiate or authorize employee hire, promotion, discharge, or transfer. 
  • When applicable, may be required to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends.
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport
     

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 7+ years prior experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Supervisory experience and knowledge of AA budgeting, policies, and procedures
  • Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of AA policies and procedure desired.

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with functional area.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and PC skills.
  • Ability to manage management, non-management, and contract labor work groups.
  • Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to inlcude Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
  • Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
  • Applicable valid driver’s license as required by local authorities, if applicable
