The Intern position is a developmental assignment that provides interns with real-time work projects, leadership development opportunities, as well as involvement in corporate social responsibility. Work projects involve assignments that are relevant to American’s current business needs and opportunities. What you'll do

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with various departments to understand Airline accounting processes and data
• Perform data analysis to find patterns & abnormalities related to various processes
• Work with subject matter experts on identifying areas of improvement & streamlining business processes
• Performs basic accounting functions associated with the Corporate Accounting Process
• Performs a variety of other functions/ad-hoc projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor/manager to aid in the department's/company's achievement of goals and business objectives

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate student with interest in Accounting.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Experience with data querying, quantitative analysis, and data analytics
• Strong work ethic, initiative & motivation
• Self-organized
• Flexible, creative & able to handle stress well
• Able to work in a diverse & fast paced environment
• Strong communication skills-written and oral
• Team player
• Skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
