You will be on the enterprise Observability product team, building high-performance observability solutions to support reliability, resiliency, and scalability of American Airlines applications and systems.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leaders, and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop software to meet those requirements
- Maintain and enhance existing enterprise services, applications, and platforms using domain driven design and test-driven development
- Troubleshoots and debugs complex issues; identifies and implements solutions
- Rapidly learn and implement new tools and technologies to support a wide range of applications and platforms
- Research and implement new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance
- Support the development of coding standards and adheres to best practices and security guidelines
- Work closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- 3 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications in hosted production environments
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- 5 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
- Experience with observability tools such as (but not limited to) Prometheus, Dynatrace, and Datadog
- Airline Industry experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Proficiency in software development
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Willingness to support a rapidly changing environment
- Proficiency and demonstrated experience in many of the following technologies:
- Programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, and/or Typescript
- Cloud-based development, with a preference for Azure
- Build and deployment tools such as Git, GitHub Actions, Yarn, and Artifactory
- API development using frameworks using frameworks such as FastAPI
- Observability tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and PowerBI
- Infrastructure as code, with a preference for terraform
- Solid understanding of and commitment to DevOps best practices including Git best practices, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Infrastructure as Code, and Test-driven development
- Experience in Agile methodologies
