- The Specialist/Sr. Specialist, Industrial Safety is responsible for supporting company leadership to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, reduce workplace safety hazards, and support employee safety initiatives.
- This position is a member of the Environmental and Regulatory Compliance organization.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement strategies for process improvement to reduce risk of illness, injuries and damages
- Review worksite audit data to identify systemic issues, potential risks and ensure regulatory compliance
- Maintain general record keeping of all regulatory correspondence, including receipt, distribution, and tracking
- Provide technical guidance regarding OSHA regulations, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and workplace hazards
- Promote safety awareness through training seminars and informational materials
- Manage occupational safety & health self-audit programs to ensure domestic stations maintain compliance with OSHA standards
- Able to interpret governmental regulations and develop AA policies/guidelines to ensure departments follow OSHA mandated standards
- Prepare safety related communications
- Build relationships with all levels of management and labor groups
- Review, revise and maintain Employee Safety and Health policies that are referenced in the Employee Safety & Health Manual
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and readjust schedule to react to Ad hoc projects
- Assist local management as needed with investigating workplace accidents and complaints
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
- 3 years of industrial hygiene experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Certified Safety Professional preferred
- In-depth experience in establishing safety and health policies and procedures.
- Have a strong background in analyzing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Excellent written communication skills required
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with all levels of employee groups
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor in fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Ability to work flexible schedule to support a 24/7 operation
- Potential Travel up to 50% and sometime with short notice
