  • Responsible for driving fundraising and sponsorship revenue for the nonprofit museum to support museum growth, which may include donations from private individuals, foundations, sponsorships, events, employee giving, memberships, as well as other existing or new
  • This job is a member of the CR Smith Museum Team within Global Engagement

What you'll do

  • Develops new one-off or recurring revenue streams
  • Ideates, organizes and produces signature events to drive funds, recognition, and engagement
  • Manages stewardship of individual relationships/accounts and identifies opportunities to enhance value for donors, supporters and members
  • Oversees and handles marketing and communications, including social media, often in collaboration with counterparts at American Airlines
  • Develops marketing strategy and drives execution
  • Negotiates, executes and manages sponsorship or donation related contracts
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends, as required

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in fundraising, sponsorship, sales or similar function, with significant demonstrated success in generating new leads, tapping new sources, cold calling new supporters and developing them into reliable revenue streams
  • 3 years’ experience in marketing, media communications or social media

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Understanding of commercial aviation, aviation history, STEAM education in an informal education setting a plus
  • Experience with Constant Contact, website design

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Affinity for the museum's mission
  • Experience driving contributions from both existing and new relationships
  • Experience ideating and organizing signature events
  • Self-starter with initiative, creativity and tenacity
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling "sales" materials for fundraising
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and stay on top of a broad portfolio of responsibilities
  • Team player
