  • The Sr Manager, Information Technology Data Migration is responsible for the successful implementation and support of the Maintenance Platform and Maintenance Planning application technologies used by our Technical Operations team.  The Technical Operations team is responsible for all functions and activities related to the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of aircraft. This encompasses a broad range of tasks to ensure that aircraft are safe, reliable, and compliant with regulatory requirements. To do so, they rely heavily on technology to help.
  • The role is a part of the Maintenance Platform and Maintenance Planning team within the Technical Operations Technology group.  This team owns and supports more than 16 different applications.

What you'll do

  • Responsible for the following products in the existing AA IT Taxonomy: Maintenance Hub and Planning & Scheduling 
  • Responsible for program management for Maintenance Hub and Planning & Scheduling applications
  • Works directly with our business partners (Product management and business leadership) to develop new and creative ways to improve operational performance. Assists them in identifying and interpreting technical solutions and risks
  • Develops new services and applications or enhances existing ones for Maintenance Hub and Planning & Scheduling to better serve our customers and end users
  • Accountable for the resiliency and security aspects of all the technology developed for Maintenance Hub and Planning & Scheduling according to the established AA IT Standards 
  • Creates and fosters high-performing teams that excel technically and are accountable for the products and processes they oversee 
  • Fosters an inclusive workplace so that all team members feel they belong. Lead by example and develop cultural competencies by engaging in our communities 
  • Leverages critical relationships across the company to ensure work is being completed with the highest possible quality and within the desired timeframe 
  • Leads and actively participates in the continuous transformation of AA IT with the goal of becoming more efficient at delivering business value focused on the company priorities 
  • Stays current on emerging technologies, hardware, and software relevant to the industry 
  • Responds to and manages incidents affecting Maintenance Hub and Planning & Scheduling applications 24x7

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training; Advanced Degree preferred 
  • 7+ years of relevant IT experience in software development 
  • Ability and willingness to address issues in a 24x7 operations environment

  • Demonstrates experience as a successful technical delivery leader with business acumen and a product mindset 
  • Demonstrates understanding of emerging technology trends relevant to the transportation industry 
  • Demonstrates understanding and strong experience leading Agile and DevOps development best practices 
  • Demonstrated outstanding project management, organizational, and time management skills 
  • Experience leading a team of more than 20 people across multiple time zones 
  • Proven track record of delivering business capabilities without compromising IT hygiene (EOSL, patching, Disaster Recovery compliance, technical debt) 
  • Proven track record in delivering and supporting highly scaling, business-critical services and applications 
  • Proven ability in building and maintaining high-performing teams who consistently deliver 
  • Familiarity with airline operations and tools is a plus
