- As an integral part of the Treasury organization, Corporate Insurance and Risk Management is responsible for managing the Company’s various risk exposures and procuring insurance policies to mitigate such risk. Also, responsible for managing liability and property damage claims.
- The position reports to the Assistant Treasurer and is primarily responsible for setting the strategy and implementation of the Company’s various risk management initiatives.

- Develop and maintain models to identify risk exposures across various functional areas of the Company’s operations, including Aviation and Cargo Liability, Property, Workers’ Compensation, Financial and Crime.
- Work closely with insurance brokers and the marketplace to identify strategies to mitigate the afore-mentioned risk exposures including the procurement of insurance policies and payment of premiums.
- Develop relationships with various insurance carriers via renewal roadshows, conferences and advisory councils.
- Leverage wholly owned captive insurer to optimize insurance solutions.
- Responsible for the management of the captive insurer, including timely filing of financial statements with concerned regulatory authorities.
- Work with business units in the negotiation of insurance provisions in contracts with third parties including vendors to protect the Company from adverse outcomes.
- Ensure team and process supports the timely production and dissemination of certificates of insurance to third parties that we are contractually obligated to provide.
- Develop and maintain enterprise risk models by working collaboratively with other business units throughout the Company. Present results to senior management and board of directors.
- Work with industry trade associations in the development and management of aviation risk as it relates to vendors and airports.
- Work collaboratively with Workers’ Comp claims handling and Safety teams to support efficient management of collateral supporting worker’s compensation liability and renewal of policy.
- Work with Accounting and Controllers organization to align on consistent accounting of claims.
- Manage a team of claims adjusters to negotiate and settle aviation liability claims including the setting up of prudent reserves in a timely manner.
- Responsible for timely reporting and collecting on first party aircraft damage claims with insurer
- Responsible for subrogating property damage claims and timely collection from third parties that damage our aircraft and property.
- Moderate travel involved.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7 - 10 years of experience in insurance and risk management setting.
- Some level of insurance certification
- Proven, self-motivated, results orientation with patience, perseverance, humility, and diplomacy
- Possess intellectual curiosity; strong interest for the risk markets and the intellectual enthusiasm to understand the management of a broad range of risk exposures.
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Self-starter with executive presence and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively involving multiple risk areas.
- Strong problem solving and project management skills, with proven track record of performing complex assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining superior quality in work products.
- Ability to manage external agents such as brokers, insurers, lawyers and lobbyists to complete assignments.
- Commitment to quality, pride in work and accepts complete ownership of responsibilities.
- Excellent ability to communicate with all levels of management proactively and effectively both verbally and written.
- Strong attention to detail with constant desire to learn and improve.
- Analytical thinking abilities to understand and manage all aspects of investment management.
- Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively in diverse situations.
- Lead a large team of insurance industry professionals.
- Oriented to continuous process and productivity improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
