What you'll do

  • Act as key account manager for our strategic airline partners and GSAs, responsible for overall relationship, commercial and operational development.
  • Identify, analyze, and develop potential cargo partnerships with carriers that bring the most network benefit to American Airlines Cargo, this includes preparing business cases, memos (Excel & PowerPoint) 
  • Support Manager Cargo Strategic Partnerships to create tactical plans to meet commercial objectives as set by management and provide feedback on the performance of these commercial objectives regularly in a structured way. 
  • Contribute to initiatives and projects as a Subject Matter Expert on GSAs and airline partnerships, such as Cargo’s IT systems product development, and other cross-departmental initiatives

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training or experience
  • 1+ year of job-related experience within the airline / air cargo industry or relevant experience 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Strong knowledge and experience in airline partnerships and alliances with a track record of contract negotiation and implementation, previous experience with partnerships, merger, acquisition 
  • Well versed in industry issues; trends with expertise in matters relating to cargo. 
  • In depth knowledge of International Air Cargo; IATA Resolutions and Procedures. 
  • Sound understanding of regulations and legislations governing international trade
  • Prior experience in airlines/transportation/freight forwarding

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple, time- sensitive deliverables and competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of achieving results through collaborative efforts
  • Ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Willingness to tackle complex problems with minimal supervision
  • Advanced business case and memo writing and PowerPoint presentation skills 
  • Highly data and process driven with excellent analytical skills 
  • Project management skills
