- This job is a member of the Lounges and Onboard Soft Goods Strategy team under the Customer Products group within the Customer Experience Organization.
- This role plays a critical part in designing, developing and executing on the amenity program for both inflight soft goods and premium ground experience amenities. This role has broad exposure to multiple commercial and operational stakeholders with the ability to shape the experience for American's premium customers.
What you'll do
- Supports the strategy, development, and implementation of the airline’s ground and inflight soft products. Examples of these touchpoints include but are not limited to: amenity kits, bedding/pajamas, headphones, lounge soaps and lotions, and more).
- Understands program management and strategic roadmaps, while driving and influencing decisions through data and customer insights – all while communicating effectively to stakeholders, leadership and partners.
- Leads soft product strategies which may include: evaluating initiatives, identifying innovative opportunities, incorporating frontline team member feedback, and managing the budget and funding requests.
- Develops customer research strategies and monitor the competitive landscape and trends; creates and maintains team resource documents to support ad-hoc competitive analysis.
- Supports the team manager and assumes leadership abilities when manager is absent or out of office.
- Collaborates closely with multiple stakeholders, including but not limited to: Inflight, Inflight Dining and Services, Airport Operations, Finance, Premium Guest Services, Strategic Planning & Analysis, Procurement, and more.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Product Design, Business Management, Transportation, Hospitality, or other related disciplines or equivalent experience/training
- 3 years related work experience
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Master’s degree in business, business management, aviation management, supply chain, or other related advanced degree
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and ability to influence without authority.
- Prior airline, commercial, and/or customer-facing experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Excellent professional writing and communication skills (in-person and online)
- Track record of taking ownership and driving results
- Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritize well in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
- Ability to quickly understand topics and drive conversations forward.
- Strong analytical skills
- Superior skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
