  • The Promotions Analyst, AAdvantage Engagement Strategy builds AAdvantage promotions, offers, and/or Status Challenges in Ventana to drive increased customer engagement and revenue with American and the AAdvantage program. Successful candidates will have an understanding of the AAdvantage Program and Ventana, and a strong desire to create engaging opportunities for AAdvantage members. This position includes collaboration among other groups to create a portfolio of engagement hub promotions and offers that effectively reach and stretch AAdvantage members in varying stages of their customer journey and lifecycle and contribute incremental value to American.

What you'll do

  • Successfully plans, builds, and executes promotion campaigns in the Engagement Hub from start to finish in a timely manner, including:
      • Coordinate between multiple departments such as Digital Marketing, Email Marketing, and Customer Insights and Loyalty to ensure they have all that they need to complete marketing/targeting for each promotion
      • Gather business requirements to determine if promotion strategy is within our promotion engine’s current logic and capabilities and if not, brainstorm ideas for technology enhancement that will drive value to promotions
      • Track launch scheduling, workflow prioritization, and gather creative assets
      • Provide updates on status and delivery, proactively identify risks, and make adjustments to ensure successful delivery
      • Build and test promotion logic and trouble shoot operational issues in existing campaigns
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert and bridges between the business and IT to assist in development and implementation processes for new promotion capabilities
  • Views promotions from a customer perspective and uses customer feedback received though ACS, customer data, and previous promotions to guide understanding of what is valuable to customers
  • Promotes open dialogue on what has worked well in previous promotions
  • Holds monthly ACS Policy & Procedure + Promotions touch points to give overviews of upcoming promotions and proactively discuss pain point remediation

All you'll need for success

  • Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
    • BA/BS required
  • Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
    • Experience in Siebel/Ventana
    • Previous loyalty marketing, CRM, insights, customer behavioral sciences experience preferred
  • Skills, Licenses & Certifications
    • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
    • Detail-oriented to capture necessary logic for promotion builds across a variety of possible rules and decision logic
    • Ability to move projects forward without deadlines as well as effectively work under tight time constraints as needed
    • Strong organizational skills to keep track of multiple actions, tie up loose ends and generally keep things moving
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and build consensus in team environments
    • Proactive in suggesting improvements and innovative ideas
