  • ​This position is a member of the Fatigue Risk Management team within the Operations Safety
  • Responsible for data review to support operational groups and regulatory compliance with opportunity to work with other teams, the union, and the FAA in support of fatigue risk management initiatives
What you'll do
  • Investigation, analysis, and trending of reported issues associated with flight time/duty time
  • Reporting and trending of flight duty period and flight times as required by regulation
  • Drafting recommendations and corrective actions associated with flight time/duty time
  • Provide necessary coordination with other stakeholders, including preparation of working group meetings to address issues associated with flight time/duty time within the American Airlines operation
  • Development of flight time /duty time data review packages for the FAA, 117 Working Group, the Fatigue Review Committee, Fatigue Steering Committee, and any other meetings as needed
  • Ensure timely responses to inquiries from crewmembers related to fatigue and flight time/duty time
  • Develop as the American Airlines subject matter expert in fatigue modeling to support
    • FAA approval of Part 117 FRMS Alternate Methods of Compliance,
    • analysis and modifications to pairing construction and monthly schedule modifications,
    • review of planned vs. operated schedules,
    • fatigue report investigations, and
    • training for internal stakeholders and APA
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor of Science Degree in an aviation field or equivalent experience
  • 3 years related job experience or education in aviation crew scheduling, operational environment, fatigue risk management or other areas of the human factors field

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience in human fatigue studies, human factors studies, safety studies, or crew scheduling/crew planning
  • Experience working collaboratively with employee union groups
  • Working knowledge of the FARs and collective bargaining agreements
  • Strong organization, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of AA/SABRE computer systems including CERS
  • Ability to analyze and trend safety data

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Advanced Microsoft Office skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task with changing priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management
