American Airlines Corporate Tax Department is seeking a highly-motivated Tax Analyst – International Tax.

What you'll do

As noted above, this list is intended to reflect the current job but there may be additional essential functions (and certainly non-essential job functions) that are not referenced.  Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.


  • Review and monitor monthly foreign income tax accruals
  • Prepare U.S. international tax IRS forms such as Forms 5471, 8975, 8858, 8991 and 8992
  • Prepare annual corporate income tax returns, estimated payments and other tax returns for foreign operations
  • Respond to requests from other departments timely and effectively
  • Prepare and provide quarterly and annual support for ASC 740 analysis and documentation
  • Assist in providing FATCA related documentation and monitor FATCA related issues
  • Support International Tax Manager and Director on a variety of U.S. international and foreign country income tax matters, including foreign income tax audits and document requests from foreign accounting offices
  • Apply professional-level technical knowledge, skills, experience, and judgment to accomplish results
  • Play a supporting role on transactions, projects, controversies, regulatory developments and legislative analysis depending on the circumstances and skill set required
  • Assist in other tax related projects as requested by tax leadership
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience/education
  • 3 years of progressive income tax experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • CPA
  • Master’s degree in Accounting/Taxation or MBA

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Strong project and organizational skills, with a focus on details
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and PC skills, especially MS Excel; SAP and One Source experience is preferred
  • Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to successfully interact with professionals within the tax department and from other areas of the Company
