  • This job is a member of the Safety Team within the Integrated Operations Division
  • ​Responsible for providing Senior Leadership with an accurate, timely, and comprehensive evaluation of company systems, processes, and functions as they relate to safety, compliance, and operating efficiency including external air operators. In addition, this job ensures consistency with Company safety goals and in accordance with guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Department of Defense (DoD), and one world requirements.
What you'll do
  • Evaluates safety systems for external Codeshare partners and the functions of safety systems internally
  • Develops evaluation process tools and methods (checklists, interview outlines, etc.) used in conducting safety oversight of codes
  • Performs functions as Lead Evaluator during offsite codeshare assessments, liaising between American Airlines and the codeshare management
  • Facilitates Corrective Action Plans and verifies the implementation of such plans
  • Maintains and updates evaluation files in electronic database
  • Conducts evaluation data trend analysis
  • Works with IEP team to develop an evaluation plan
  • Prioritizes planned evaluations using risk assessment techniques
  • Some travel (approximately 4 weeks annually) both domestic and international is required
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • 3 years of experience in aviation operations or related job experience
  • Prior auditing or inspection experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Air Transport Pilot, Dispatcher, A&P Certificate or advanced degree 
  • CASE, IOSA or other auditor experience
  • Prior supervisory or management experience 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office to include, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of aviation operational functions 
  • Understanding of ICAO Annexes, Federal Regulations and IATA Standards and the ability to apply those concepts
  • Knowledge of aviation procedure manuals
  • Ability to present and articulate complex requirements to audiences who possess a wide variety of subject matter expertise
  • Ability to follow through and complete projects as individual contributor or collaborate as a team member with effective drive for results
  • Ability to lead a team and provide direction to team members completing tasks 
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to conduct assessments (as needed)
  • Ability to demonstrate an acute attention to detail
