About The Job

This job is a member of the Finance Team within the Finance Division. This position will be responsible for the annual spend forecasting exercise and serves as the primary point of contact for insight into supplier financial health, economic conditions of markets we do business in and potential impact of current events.


Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Develop complex Excel/Database models supporting the financial analysis of RFPs and supplier negotiations
  • Perform analysis, such as evaluating and forecasting cost components of contract proposals, reviewing/recommending pricing structures, identifying and quantifying financial exposure and quantifying the impact of foreign currency/taxes/inventory ownership
  • Evaluate Financial Statements and associated financial health of suppliers
  • Prepare presentations, communicating analysis to a broad range of management levels
  • Coordinate Procurement’s annual inflation goals process as well as end of year actual inflation reporting
  • Create reports in support of American’s Supplier Diversity requirements


Required Qualifications

  • 3 years' experience in finance, analytics, or equivalent experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters of Business Administration
  • Ability to demonstrate an aptitude for problem solving and strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to logically structure analysis of complex issues and develop creative solutions to business and operational challenges
  • Knowledge of Tableau software
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance individuals
