  • The Lounge Product Team focuses on building the loyalty of American's best customers by providing a world class service and a seamless travel experience through development of its range of products geared towards our high-value customers.
  • This role is responsible for driving cross-departmental efforts across a variety of functional areas in pursuit of Customer Experience objectives.

What you'll do

  • Leads the team responsible for building and delivering on our global lounge network strategy
  • Develops the business case, manage, and prioritize lounge facility projects
  • Develops and delivers on a comprehensive access policy for all lounge programs
  • Manages the development of capital investment plans and forecasts
  • Setsand delivers on lounge design standards
  • Inspires a culture of continuous improvement and challenges conventional thinking. Drives creative solutions and intelligent risk-taking
  • Collaborates closely with key stakeholders across the company and with oneworld partners, OA partners, and vendors to drive value for the company. Actively communicates with stakeholders and across all levels and provides transparent and continual communication
  • Recommends plans, requirements, and investment spending for lounge facility projects
  • Leads the review, development, and design of multiple concurrent new construction and refurbishment efforts
  • Works with multiple Corporate Real Estate Project Managers and Premium Customer Services Field Managers to identify and manage needed facility improvements
  • Liaises with external architectural & engineering firms, general contractors and subcontractors, Corporate Real Estate department, and Premium Customer Services operational management throughout the design and development process
  • Manages the CAPEX and OPEX budgets related to lounges and access
  • Collaborates with Alliances, Commercial Planning, oneworld partners, and 3rd party lounge providers to lead strategic initiatives and access agreements

All you'll need for success

  • Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/training
    • 5 years work experience related to design and/or constructions projects
    • Architect License and/or equivalent experience
    • Experience leading and delivering construction projects on-time and on-budget
    • Experience managing multi-million dollar capital projects and delivering continual updates to senior leadership
    • Travel up to 40% or as needed
  • Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
    • Masters Degree
    • Close familiarity with Premium Services products as well as hospitality, restaurant and/or airport environments

    • Expertise in hospitality design and navigating the supply chain of materials and finishes for hospitality projects
    • Expertise in facility design, construction, and refurbishment
    • Must be organized, energized, results oriented, articulate, possess strong oral and written communication skills, ability to be persuasive and influence others, ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
    • Proactively identify solutions to complex issues and influence appropriate stakeholders in decisions impacting the ground and lounge experience
    • Expertise in facility design, construction, and refurbishment
    • Knowledge of competitive landscape and trends in the hospitality industry
    • Ability to identify short- and long-term facility improvements to address a changing customer demographic
    • Ability to effectively interact with numerous stakeholders internally and externally, senior management in various departments, and has high visibility
    • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills in combination with the ability to think and frame solutions strategically and creatively
    • Strong attention to detail with ability to make connections across functional areas and understand dependencies and implications
    • Efficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, i.e.)
