This job is a member of the Revenue Accounting (Payment Strategy) Team within the Finance Division.  Responsible for reporting and analyzing data related to credit card processing as well as assist in identifying and implementing new payment options globally.

What you'll do
  • Works closely with internal teams to coordinate resolutions on production problems, cost reduction initiatives and associated payments reporting/policy/fraud issues
  • Helps maintain American’s relationships with all domestic and international credit card schemes, processors and other payment-related vendors
  • Partners with Finance and RAC IT to review all project implementation and ongoing costs
  • Provides in depth ad hoc analysis of processing volumes, including identifying and applying trends and root cause analysis
  • Develops reports and presentations that summarize and communicate results from analysis
  • Builds consensus with other internal departments such as Sales,, Information Technology, and Marketing
  • Serves as a liaison to the RAC Automation department for all payment related technology projects
  • Strategically and analytically evaluates developments in the payment industry
What you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years related work experience in similar field/position
  • General knowledge of credit card processing, fraud, chargebacks and other payment related operations


Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Advanced degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience/training
Skills, licenses & certifications
  • ​Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Ability to logically structure analysis of complex issues and develop solutions to business problems and operational challenges
  • Ability to both read and create processing flows
  • Proven track record of demonstrating analytical aptitude
  • Ability to manage multiple relationships and projects, prioritizes opportunities, and take initiative towards achieving common goal
  • Ability to independently identify issues, analyze data and propose solutions
  • Able to present to various levels of management and tailor the presentation to the audience accordingly
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Able to  build relationships and interact productively with various departments and all levels of management
  • Work in a team environment as well as be successful independently
  • Willingness to show initiative and take ownership of job responsibilities
  • Self-starter with logical, analytical, organizational and innovation skills
  • Creative thought process, visionary attitude and innate curiosity
