- This position is a member of the Corporate Tax Team within the Finance Division.
- This position will be responsible for identifying, assessing and implementing major tax positions that have a significant impact on the tax position of the Company. Additionally, the position works closely with Director - Income Tax and MD - Corporate Tax in assessing and implementing various tax efficiency opportunities. Identified opportunities could have a major impact on the tax position of the Company, as well as the Company’s publicly-issued financial statements and cash position
What you'll do
- Assist the MD – Corporate Tax in the overall coordination and management of the Company’s international tax position
- Work closely with the International Accounting team and outside advisors to ensure statutory compliance requirements are met
- Lead tax transformation and automation projects, coordinating the activities of various AA teams (Income Tax, International Accounting, etc.) and outside consultants
- Assist with various tax-savings initiatives involving complex tax research related to the Company’s international tax position
- Assist in the preparation of the company's tax provision, which is necessary for the Company's publicly-issued financial statements
- Lead the preparation of statutorily-required foreign income tax returns
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor's degree in an accounting related field
- Masters in Taxation and Certified Public Accountant required
- 6 to 8 years of progressive income tax experience, with minimum of 5 years of international income tax experience
- Extensive experience in performing tax research, with a proven record of identifying tax savings opportunities
Preferred Qualification- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Mix of public accounting and industry experience
SAP and Thomson Reuters OneSource experience
Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities
Ability to successfully interact with professionals within the tax department and from other areas of the company
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Ability to perform cost-benefit analysis regarding opportunities and communicate results to senior Tax leadership is critical
- Masters in Taxation, or Juris Doctorate with an emphasis in taxation
- Certified Public Accountant
- Strong technical, project and organizational skills, with a focus on details
- Strong interpersonal and PC skills, especially in Alteryx and other automation tools, as well as Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and tax research software (CheckPoint, BNA, etc.)
