- This position is responsible for managing American's environmental permitting and compliance with Clean Water Act programs and environmental remediation for our Tulsa, OK facilities. The Environmental Engineer will also be responsible for managing three Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plants(IWTPs), one environmental laboratory, and will be responsible for the review of new chemicals before introduction into the IWTP systems. This role directly supports other Environmental program areas in Tulsa, including spill response, and is a part of American's Environmental Compliance team.
What you'll do

- Support Company environmental policies and procedures, to assure that Company operations are in compliance with Federal, State, and local environmental regulations
- Manage Industrial Pretreatment and Stormwater Program permitting, reporting and compliance for three facilities located in Tulsa, OK
- Manage three Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plants (IWTPs)
- Support and reporting for one environmental laboratory
- Manage environmental remediation projects in Tulsa, OK including groundwater monitoring and reporting, site investigations, and maintenance of a large Phytoremediation Treatment System(500+ trees).
- Support other Environmental programs in Tulsa, including spill response
- Provides support in Clean Water Act programs and remediation for Company's Environmental Compliance team, as required
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or related field, or equivalent experience/training
- 2+ years of work experience in an Enviornmental Compliance position
- Willing to travel 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- 5+ years of woprk experience in an Environmental Compliance position
- Familiar with multiple state environmental regulation, including Oklahoma
- Familiar with aerospace and metal-finishing industrial wastewater chemistry, treatement, laboratory analyses and permitting
- Prior environmental laboratory experience
- Familiar with aerospace storm water permitting and compliance
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc
- Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills, evaluate performance metrics, think independently and provides practical solutions under tight time constraints; forsees challenges and develops strategies to deal with them before they occur
