Request for Accommodations American Airlines’ Candidates for Hire
At American, we are an airline that represents our world. We are rich in diversity: in race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran/military status, religious affiliation, experience, thought, background, and culture. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are not inspirational goals, they are the way we achieve success.
We care for people on life’s journey, from the job search to the new hire process, which includes providing a process to request a reasonable accommodation because of a disability or a sincerely held religious belief. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and the Accommodations team will get back with you as quickly as possible.
Accommodations at the offer stage with American Airlines
Now that an offer has been made, we want to ensure your first days at American Airlines are some of your best days. As we mentioned earlier in the application process, as part of the federal vaccine mandate, all American Airlines team members are required to show proof of vaccine against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. If you are unable to be vaccinated because of a disability or a sincerely held religious belief or require accommodation to perform another function of the job, you may request a reasonable accommodation.
All accommodation requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Simply click on the type of accommodation you are seeking and fill out all information fields.

*The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals on the basis of disability. American Airlines will not tolerate discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities.
A “qualified individual,” as defined by the ADA, means an individual who, with or without reasonable accommodation, can perform the essential functions of the employment position that such individual holds or desires. The ADA requires covered employers to make reasonable accommodations to the known physical or mental limitations of an otherwise qualified individual with a disability who is an applicant or team member, absent an undue hardship on the operation of the business.
